The Religious Education (RE SKE) course will allow you to take an exciting route onto a Religious Education ITT. It will provide you with the confidence to teach RE at GCSE level and beyond where you will develop knowledge that will enable you to challenge your own students on questions about belief, values, meaning, purpose and truth, enabling those students to develop their own attitudes towards religious issues

Typical Units of Study

Religious Education SKE students can study a fully funded 8 week course in preparation for Initial Teacher Training.


Main areas studied within the 8 week course are from within 6 key religions.

DfE will only fund RE SKE if enrolled / place confirmed by 10th April 2024.  If your conditional offer was made after 10th April 2024, you might be able to self-fund your SKE course - we have provided a link below to a provider that offers this

Introductory unit

RE SKE students start with an introductory unit on beliefs, teaching practices, philosophy and ethics of the 6 major world religions.
